Ok, so.. the NR_Layout… its zip here
Were there any other folders at the ‘working’ level?
Out of curiosity, had you been using the scrapbook Barry showed? Was that around the same time you were working on the main file?
Yes it has more folders, but I was focusing on the day-time the problem started.
Therefore, to be honest I was not using the scrapbook you said

Those files do get compressed when made into a .layout file. If any of the folders are about twice as big as you remember the document being, it might be the folder for that document.
I will try again tho
@Barry Can you please help me to see why I can’t open this Layout file? I tried zipping and changing extension but didn’t work. I looked into the local file directory you posted but the version I’m seeking is not there. thank you!

FWIW, I unzipped your LayOut file and found a bad png reference.
There are more than 1500 styles in the file. @Barry has addressed the style file bloat. i deleted them from the unzipped file.
I also had a look at the SketchUp reference. It could stand some cleanup.
Fix incorrect tag usage.
Interestingly, after rezipping the file and changing the extension to .layout the thumbnail was displayed (it wasn’t before). I still couldn’t open the file but hopefully Barry or the developers will be able to do that.
@ron.gonzalez I can’t unzip the file. The beginning looks like zip (50 4b in hex, which is “PK” for PKzip, the original zipping algorithm), and it’s missing a PK at the end and trails off into 00 00 00…
The reason I haven’t mentioned this on forums is it’s easy to screw up zipping & unzipping if you haven’t done it a lot. Do you have the original file?
Thanks for the message Barry. I ended up redoing the additional pages from scratch. The team I work with in Grainger has been having issues with Layout 2025 freezing frequently and doing ‘bug splat’ at times. Is there a preferred graphics card standard now with the new 2025 features that be causing these issues? We don’t have advanced graphics card but plan on exploring new equipment so figured I’d ask
Based on the references I see in the file you shared, lags (freezing) of LayOut doesn’t surprise me too much. The SketchUp file is bloated and has a lot of geometry to deal with especially if you are using Vector or Hybrid rendering. Streamlining your models would help.
What is the paper size in your project?
I would also look at the images that are being added. I expect at least some of them are larger than they need to be for the way they are used on the page. For example the image of the bamboo is huge.
Edit: If you adjust the size of the images to suit the way they will be used in the document, you’ll have less work to do when inserting them into LayOut.
As for graphics cards, Nvidia cards have an excellent track record. A current Nvidia GTX series card with a decent amount a RAM should serve you well.
