Our students work on Chromebooks with Sketchup for schools. Every friday at around 3.30 pm they get an error when they try to save to their google drive account.
The error says ‘We are having an issue reaching Google Drive. Please download a backup file. We wil be working on this issue’.
Before 3.30 pm and on other moment, it saves to google drive, but on fridays from that moment, they get the error.
Hmmm… An error that happens only on Friday at 3:30 is a new one for me. Maybe there is an issue with the servers or a firewall somewhere but I am really not sure. I’ll go ahead and mark this thread for review so we can look into it in detail. What timezone are you in? I want to try and replicate the error and knowing when it happens is a good first step for me.
Also, we have had reports of issues with the save lately if users spend more than an hour logged in without refreshing the page. Are the students spending more than an hour logged in without refreshing the page? Knowing this will help me isolate the potential new bug a bit faster.
I’m the admin, not the teacher. But I can see that they are together with this teacher the whole afternoon on fridays, so I think that the possibility is big that the students are logged in for more than an hour.
Ah, thanks for the info. I’ll go ahead and mark this as another case of the known issue and see if I can get any developers to tell me when we might have a fix rolled out. Hopefully it will be soon.
