# ERROR: An error occurred while creating the terrain

Hi is anyone else getting this error when trying to geo-locate. It just started happening last week but before I updated to the latest. i have just updated to the latest and it is still occurring.

I haven’t seen that for a while. Can you give the exact location, so we can try it?

This can happen if the area contains some bad data, the map tile servers have temporary issues, or if you have selected a large area (in some locations).

Try reducing the size of your area to see if that helps, or just try again as if it was an intermittent issue it may have resolved.
