The “open recent” choice in my Sketchup make 2014 is always empty.
I’ve got a Mac OX and have tried repairing permissions, re-installing sketchup, nothing works!

This isn’t typically an application specific issue but is instead a problem with the Recent Items as defined by OS X. Here is a great article, albeit a bit older, that might get you working again:
