Edit materials greyed out?

Hi there,

I’m fairly new to Sketch up and very new to this forum so I’m sorry if this has been posted in the wrong place!

1. I’m trying to have a play around with the texture settings but every time I try to do it with any material its greyed out? I swear I was able to do it once before?

2. Also I can no longer toggle Ambient occlusion when I’m in the default style- I swear I could do this before the update?

3. Where has the grass texture gone! how to do I add grass to my models- I can only find a texture map on the warehouse (with random arrows! ) sorry If this is simple stuff. I can see loads of wood and bricks but no grass?

You’re using the Classic graphics engine. You need to enable the New Graphics engine in SketchUp Preferences and restart SketchUp.

Be aware that the graphics card in your profile may not fully support the new graphics engine.

For the material part of the question, with SketchUp 2025 you get a new set of materials, and the older sets are in 3D Warehouse. Here are the materials for grass:
