Dynamic Components Update Broke Flextools Window

Update from Sketchup for Dynamic Components and it broke the Flextools dynamic component window.

See attached.

I tested this in Sketchup 2022 and 2025.

If I uninstall the Dynamic Compenents update the Flextools window goes back to normal.

I contacted Yoni about this.

ping @Yoni , maybe he can tell you something

Thanks. Emailed Yoni first thing. He’s on it. Contacted Sketchup and they’re aware of the problem. With FlexTools or otherwise. He said they responded to him in record time. In the mean time I found a work around by replacing all the files in the “js” directory in the updated DC directory in plugins. Went back to normal.

What did you replace the files with?

Thanks for reporting this Gus!

I believe Sketchup have rolled back the update for now.

If anyone happened to install the update and wants to remove it:

  • Uninstall the Dynamic Components extension and restart sketchup - This will remove the update and roll it back to a working version.

You’re welcome Yoni. I need my FlexTools to work right.

Colin. I guess just follow Yoni’s instructions. What I did was uninstall DC and restarted which brought back the FlexTools DC plugin. Then I just used the js files from the the FlexTools, updated DC again, and replaced everything in the js directory. Which you won’t have to do now.

I was only curious, what was it you replaced the js folder files with? Was it the older version of the Dynamic Components js folder?

Work is being done to have the needed fix that was in 1.8.4, without the bad side effect that it had.
