Dynamic Components + Fredoscale Box Stretching

I’ve seen various posts on this forum about how to use dynamic components to change the size of things without distortion. Because it uses scaling to change the size, if you have a rabbet or a profile on a piece, it will distort if you adjust the size.

Many people suggest breaking down the part into several subgroups. This works okay, but it can get very complicated if you are drawing something like a wooden door, which is what I use it for. There end up being many many subgroups. I am making production drawings so I need everything to be accurate.

What I would love is an extension that is basically Dynamic Components, but with FredoScale Box Stretching added. Maybe a setting to choose when updating the size whether to scale as normal, or to box stretch.

I don’t know if this is possible, or how complicated it would be. Or maybe something like this exists already?

You would still have to select the part(s) to stretch, so separating is required whether prior or during.

What to you mean by separating? The different parts would be separate, yes. The stiles, rails, and panels would each be their own component. What I would like is to not need to have the stile include 2 or more sub groups within it.

How would the code figure what to stretch without input or user selection? So, grouping or selecting geometry or parts is required.
