I am going to attempt to do something very Fiddley requiring I draw in sketchu. There used to be a plugin from memory that will make the jod a bit easier. Ideas anyone? I am doing a staned glass window
tools on surface by fredo6?
Thanks guys, but unfortunately my window Is art Art Nouveau therefore very organic. I think I will have to cancel this project
I cannot understand why Sketchup does not have splines or poly lines.
I don’t see anything that I couldn’t draw with native arcs or the free beziers curves extension.
and time, off course. a complex thing like that requires time
I just only need to use Arc and Line tool. They are enough for this kind of.
Why don’t you import the image into SketchUp and make it a reference image, then use Arc tool to draw over? Try to use Arc Tool of SketchUp, it’s powerful more than you think. Just click and move the mouse closer with the arc you want on the ref image, then wait for it turn color to cyan or purple then click…, and so on.
@TheOnlyAaron had a stream a couple of years ago where he modeled a very similar (identical?) door, although he didn’t get to the windows:
@Box is right. You should check out today’s stream for tips on modeling stained glass https://youtube.com/live/6in9UGnr2_o
And if there was an extension, it may have been from ex-SketchUp engineer and wonderful stained glass maker Jeremy. You maybe could reach him through his studio - https://eclipseartglass.com/

That’s the kind of thing I would draw in PowerCADD first, and then bring into SketchUp just because of the 2D tools are so powerful, especially in this case arcs and B-splines or Beziers. Unfortunately, PowerCADD is Mac only, and given that PowerCADD 9 is deprecated since MacOS Mojave, and PowerCADD 10 is still in beta and not available, that’s not a solution for anyone that doesn’t already have a copy on an old system.
I love that door, by the way. One of my favorites.
