Does the HP Omen Desktop fits the SketchUp & Vray requirements?

Hi, I am gonna purchase HP Omen 870-168d Desktop for Interior Architecture. Not sure the SketchUp Make & Vray Renderer can works well with the spec of Omen 870-168d or not.

This is the spec of HP Omen 870-168d:

Operating system
Windows 10 Home 64
Processor
Intel® Core™ i7-6700K (4 GHz, up to 4.2 GHz, 8 MB cache, 4 cores)
Memory, standard
16 GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB)
Internal drive
2 TB 7200 rpm SATA
Graphics
Discrete
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960 (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated)

Thanks for the advice

Hi @yimky ,
I think it’s above avarage and sufficient for your needs. But you must definitely get an SSD for internal drive in addition to that available HDD. And use that SSD to install your programs (128 or 256GB should be fine), HDD for storage.

I agree with @filibis.
Even if you suffer from overall storage, SSD is far better off than HDD.

Otherwise, this will be a decent machine for work.

CPU is fine and RAM has probably 2 slots free for extending later on if required. GPU is okie and could be swapped to a roughly 50% faster GTX 1060 if the demand arises (high-poly count models or render plugs using the GPU).

Get a SSD (Samsung 850 Evo/Pro) as the system medium (operating system, apps) not below 256 GB (from ~100.- bucks) or better 500 GB (from ~170.- bucks). For copying the partitions from the HDD to the SSD you can use the free Minitool Partition Wizard.

Thanks a lot, guys!
