Display component counts as 3D text in workspace (not as a report)?

Is there any way to display the counts of components in the actual workspace? Not just as a report or on a toolbar?

This sort of thing.

Could be 2D text even. Anything. Just as long as I don’t have to update things manually.

If no such extension exists, I’m OK with paying a (reasonable) amount for someone to develop one.

If we’re doing it as a project, let’s incorporate at least these basic features:

Preset color / font / size for the text.

Automatic spacing & alignment.

Create a unique copy of the component for the list, explode & reform it as a group, so it’s excluded from the count & does not cause an “off by 1” error.

Perhaps this one (but I did not tried)
Entity info overlay

Interesting. Looks like exactly what I need. But it’s not showing up in Extension Warehouse for some reason… weird.

Nah, it’s not working (nothing happens, no error messages), and anyway I don’t need it as just 1 component, I need to make like a list of them… IDK if that’s possible.

Like a “Schedule” that architects use - a listing of all the unique items, arranged in list / table form.

Hmm - not working? Is it enabled in the SU Overlay panel and is the toggle enabled at the top? FYI, A couple of the extensions (Move and Elevate) include your suggestions, IIRC.

I looked at the request but I couldn’t understand it fully. The overlay text is not interactive. Do you want text, as in 3D text from the 3D Text tool (like what appears to be shown in your image)? Or text like labels from the Text tool?

Like these (but using the count):

Overlay

Text 2D label / 3D text tool

It’s not in 3D Text but below is a link to an older ruby script i use for myself that lists components, their names and quantities with some other info as an outliner overlay on your screen. Not an exact fit with what you are asking.
