Dimensions tool causes blue blob - Please help

When trying to use the dimensions tool I get this blue blob. I’ve updated and restarted Sketchup and my PC. Any tips?
Also my guidelines tool isnt working either. I have a Loom video demonstrating my issues. Any help is more than appeciated.

What version of SketchUp are you actually using? Your profile says you are using 2022 Desktop on Chrome but SketchUp 2022 does not run on Chrome. Are you using a web based version? Or a cr acked version of SketchUp 2022? What operating system, then?

There were quite a few fixes between Mac SketchUp 2024 and 2025, you might as well try 2025. You don’t have to remove 2024 to try that.

It would be worth opening 2024 and signing out, before opening 2025 and signing in, to make sure that you have a spare activation available.

If there is a reason you have to stay with 2024, you could go into Settings and Graphics, and enable the classic graphics engine. That may well not show the two problems.

Thank you, after downloading the 2025 version, I can’t access it. I had to submit a ticket to support. Super frustrating nothing is working.

What happens when you try to run SketchUp 2025?

Hi Colin

I was receiving a notice that I needed to deactivate an account. I was a little confused but deactivated everything and just signed back into the 2025 version. That appeared to resolve the tape measure guideline issue.

However, I’m still getting a chaotic axis popup when I use the dimensions tool. Could something be wrong with the surface face?

I’m very green to sketchup and am doing my best to navigate.

Thanks Dave. I was working from 2024 SketchUp via a file within a training course I joined. Not sure if that helps. However, the guideline issue was fixed when I downloaded the 2025 version though the dimensions issue still persists but may just be a bug in the file. It isnt happening in new files so I just decided to move on. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

You could share the .skp file. That would help us help you.

Please update your forum profile since you are not using SketchUp 2022. And figure out what graphics card you’re using. Put that in your forum profile.
