Hi, does anyone have an idea for approching overlapping surfaces? like get rid of the top, overlapping, what kind of approch regarding this? tried alot off different ways but cant seem to find my way. Thinking about making it a plugin for faster workflow.
These faces are all in groupes, and as you can see their overlapping, the reasoning for wanting speed, is to not having to do it alot of times when getting alot off overlaps.
Trimming or in general relating geometry in groups or components with other geometry is easily done but there are several different ways to go about it depending on what you are trying to accomplish. It’s not clear to me from your post what you want from this geometry. To trim the 2d shapes so their edges are abutted or co-linear? If you could describe a little what “getting rid of top overlapping is” we could better help you with the most efficient workflow. Also perhaps include your model in a response so we can see what you are working with.

Sorry for the bad explonastion.
I’m developing a grading plugin for SketchUp that automatically generates sloped connections between multiple flat surfaces at different elevations.
Basically, I want SketchUp to handle overlapping platforms the same way Civil 3D does in a grading model: the lower surface always owns the terrain, and the higher surfaces adapt to it.
Is this a question about how to approach the writing of the extension or how to do it in general but faster than manual?
If it is the former, you should move this thread to the correct category: Developers.
