Cutting a slice into a cylinder

I need to slice a hole into a cylinder. Can anyone assist?Tried making a sphere and pushing onto cylinder but doesnt work.

Picture attached shows what im trying to achieve. Thanks in advance!

  1. Draw circle
  2. Use offset tool and erase inside
  3. Push/pull (make a group)
  4. make sphere (make a group) and move into a good position
  5. use subtract (Solid tools)

Make five or six similar pipes and then stick them together.
