My brain used to know why this is happening, but I’m glitching. How can you give sub components unique instances i.e. 1,2, 3…etc. See attachments. Overall Component has unique instances, sub components don’t and when I try to assign unique instance numbers, they all have the same number. Thanks!
Your Overall Component has unique instances. But defined by their definition. This definition is holding one of the instance of sub components. If you change the name of that sub instance you will see the chages of all instances in Overall definition. If you would heve a different name of sub instance than its not anymore the same definition, or not an instance of the Overall definicion becouse the instances must be same.
You can assign different instance names within the same Component definition (editing context), or inside other definition.
