Hello, my SketchUp crashed and my crucial .skp file is now giving me the “Failed to open document” error. I have checked for .skb backup files and auto-saves in my AppData/Temp folders, but they are all missing or also corrupted.
The file still has a large file size, so I believe the geometry is still there, but the header might be broken. Could a SketchUp Sage or team member please try to recover this for me?

Did you try updating to 2026 and opening the file?
no i do not have it my version is 2024
sketchup 2026 is available with your subscription. you don’t have to update, but you also don’t have to stay with 2024.
your file is odd, it starts as a classic sketchup file then it goes weird.
there is no model.dat in there, not twice (as it should), not even once. it’s like you only have the metadata and no actual model ?
