Computer struggling with importing an object from 3d warehouse

Hi everyone,

I’d really appreciate any advice. I’m having some trouble importing components from 3D warehouse. The issue is with a hedge (500,000 polygons). My computer is REALLY struggling- just the blue wheel every time I try to move it etc.

The things is, I’ve got an i7-8700, 16gb corsair ram. I don’t have a dedicated graphics card, but from my understanding it’s the CPU that determines how quickly sketchup runs on your PC, not GPU.

Am I right?

Does anyone have any advice? Thanks a lot in advance if anyone has any helpful comments…

I would choose another hedge, half a million polygons is excessive one a single component.

Although SketchUp runs on the CPU you still want to be packing a decent GPU to run things smoothly.
