I’ve never encountered this issue on any machines or SKP software from anyone, except one collegue who doesn’t to be able change the definition of a component once the component has been created. It doesn’t even let him type a new name on definition at all, and the component is not locked.
Has anyone encountered this issue? Do you know how to solve it?
Thank you for the reply! I’ve raised the question because I’ve been using Sketchup for a while now and have other colleagues that use it daily, and I’ve never seen this issue before, and couldn’t find any other questions in the forum about this exact issue.
He is trying to make the change in the entity info tray after clicking on the component within the model. So if he wants to change a component called ‘Counter 1’ to ‘Counter 2’, when he tries to click on the definition box where it says ‘Counter 1’, it doesn’t let him type. We’ve tried the same model with the same component in other machines and licenses, and it’s always fine, but he can’t do it with any components.
I just wondered whether he turned on some kind of preference that doesn’t allow him to do so.
Is it possible the component is locked in his model? Here I’ve locked a component and you can see that the Definition field is unavailable for editing.
