Import the image into SU, say, a png with transparent background.
Then use the Image Trimmer function of TIG’s plugin:

[/quote] You DO NOT have to unzip anything.
You do not need to know where your Plugins folder is at all…
What you can download from the link provided should be an RBZ archive.
This is actually a type of ZIP file containing all of the needed files and subfolders…
BUT… provided you have a SketchUp version >= v8 [m2] you can install any RBZ using the Preferences > Extensions > Install Extension… button [accessed through SketchUp’s Window menu on a PC, or SketchUp’s Preferences on a MAC]
After clicking that button find the downloaded RBZ and choose it.
Answer in the affirmative to any prompts and the Plugin is installed for you and loaded…
Restarting SketchUp to ensure everything is in order can’t hurt.
Note that with this particular toolset you need to ensure the JAR file-type is properly linked to Java and not hijacked by some Compression program - which stops them executing in Java.
These small cross-platform executables are needed to do some of the image and zip file manipulations needed with the toolset.
