Claim Credit feature

Hi all,

Is it me or has the Claim Credit feature stopped working?
Not sure if it’s the latest update or not but I’ve just tried to claim credit on a couple of my models and nothing happens, then the button greys out!

Has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks

I never really use that feature so hadn’t noticed it was grayed out. Out of curiosity I opened a model and saw that it is grayed out, though. Then I clicked on the ? to look at the help file article. After following the part about right clicking on the component and choosing Save as … and saving it into my components collection, the Claim Credit button was available.

I wonder if @colin has any insight on this feature.

Thanks Dave,

Did you click on it though? When I click on it (when it’s not grayed/greyed out), it does nothing :man_shrugging:

Yes. It did work once. Let’s see if Colin has any information to share.

I don’t about that feature. It seems to have been Google specific.

@tommy_acierno may know more.

I suppose that was from the days when Google would take user’s models for Google Earth.

It was actually developed as a light-weight way to offer attribution to authors as 3D Warehouse became more popular (since it’s fairly easy to download and then re-upload someone’s model).

I’m able to activate the Claim Credit button like @DaveR did. One needs to sign into a Trimble ID account first, and then make a modification to the model for the button to activate. However, I’m running into an issue adding my name to the list of Component Authors after clicking the Claim Credit button (i.e. nothing seems to happen). I’m asking around internally to see if I can learn more about what’s going on.
