Has there been a change to the way the orbit tools works. Specifically middle mouse orbit in the latest update?
What are you seeing?
The middle mouse button changed in Layout and it still catches me off guard. But I think SketchUp remained as it was.
Are you referring to when you double click into a viewport to override the camera?
Looks like when I middle click in an empty space to orbit its grabbing a point below 0 on the blue axis and this is warping the rotation. I’m finding it hard to replicate though.
I been playing with the Orbit tool, clicking in empty space, but I’m not seeing anything strange. If you can catch it in a screen capture video that could help. Is this in SU2024?
I am, yes. But before you chastise me for not using scenes, I only do this for certain quick jobs that I know I’ll never visit again.

That’s the only time I would override the camera too.
Sigh. I wish I had some of those in the queue.
Is it possible you have changed the model axes and blue isn’t actually up.
I haven’t lost mouses for some time, but when I did, symptoms always started with the middle/wheel button acting weird. Also, a stuck modifier key (or activated Sticky Keys) might change mouse behaviour. Trying a different mouse would tell if the hardware is failing.

I don’t think its the mouse its only a year and a bit old. I don’t think its a sticky key as i tried to repeat to effect with the modifier keys and couldn’t repeat it (shift, ctrl, alt).
Are you using a non-standard screen resolution or an ultrawide monitor?
I don’t believe so.
Does it happen of a fresh file? Are you opening a stock or personal template? Is it possible there is some geometry stuck far off from the origin?
Its an file from last year. personal template. the behaviour feels like its selected far of geometry but I’m not aware of anything far from the point of origin and the group outline isn’t showing an unexpected area size.
Might help if you attached a model so we can rule that out.
