Change the order of models shown in 3DWarehouse profile

I couldn’t find information about this, and i’d like to know if it’s possible to change the order in which models are shown in your profile page, other than reuploading them ? For example, i uplodaded models A - B - C and i want to change the order to A - C - B. Is there a way to do it without having to manually reupload each model ?

Thanks in advance. All help is appreciated!

Go to the page and click on Date Added and change it to another options. Click on the arrow to sort up or down.

Thanks for answering quickly, but i see i wasn’t as clear as i thought in my question. Your answer is valid, but i’d like to know if there’s a way rearrange the models by dragging them ? In other words, is there other way to change their position other than changing the options at “date added etc” ?

No. At least not at this point in time. Maybe some day.

I see. Imo that would be a neat addition to the platform. I’ll try to modify the models so they appear on the desired order. Again, thanks for the attention.

I gather since you are using SketchUp Free (web), according to your profile, this is a hobby thing for you. Perhaps sorting them by name would make sense. You can name them so they appear in alphabetical order. Maybe that makes more sense than by date added.

If you want them in a particular order, you could name them with a preceding one or a few characters to force the order you want. Eg:

  1. House
  2. Garden
  3. Backyard

Hey Atelier_FM!
Great suggestion and not the first time it’s be brought up.
Can you tell us a bit more about why you’d want to rearrange them?
We like to understand the desired outcome fully to make sure we are “barking up the right tree” as we might say here.

Hello Guz. I make 3D models for a company focused on designer’s furniture. I’ll give an example to illustrate why this feature would be good.

Each piece has it’s own name, and some pieces have different sizes, and so i make models for each one. But as i’m always working on various other models, and some are easier to make then others, sometimes i upload them as i finish, thus some models that would be better together end up far from each other. For example, i have the current sequence of models: A1, A2,B1, B2, B3, A3, A4, and i’d like to drag them in the interface so they are all in order (A1, A2, A3, A4 then B1,B2 etc.). I can’t put numbers or letters on their names because i have to name them as they are irl, as my company demands it (For example, if i had a 3D model of Eero Aarnio’s Ball chair, i couldn’t name it as 1.Ball chair or A - Ball chair). In conclusion, an option for rearranging them without having to resort to workarounds would be greatly appreciated and would be a good tool for us users.

Again, a big thanks to everyone for the suggestions and the quickness!

I am working with our team’s UI/UX designer as well as our platform engineers to research a feature to allow this. Thank you for the additional detail! If it’s ok, we might reach out to you directly for additional guidance and possibly some feedback on designs.

This is a new request for me, but no less important. It won’t be something we can turn around very quickly but something we can definitely put on the roadmap.
