Can't push trapezoid out of 3D shape

Before I can ask the question about the attached images, I need to know how to delete my untagged files.

The hexagon here was accompanied by some other geometry that raised the size file to 25.2 MB. That’s too large to upload to the Forum.

So, I deleted excess material and sent it to the Untagged folder. However, the file size is still 25.2 MB.

So, how do I delete my Untagged folder & files so that I can get a reasonably-sized hexagon file to send you?

The area that you are trying to pull out looks like it might not be entirely coplanar or “flat”
The lines on top of the guides look off in your image

Take a look at:

Window → Model Info → Statistics

Then, Purge Unused:

What do you mean by “my untagged files”?

John: In order to be able to email the model to the Forum, I had to make the model smaller. So, I deleted a number of tags. They went into the Untagged folder.

Tags themselves make up essentially no size-able data in your file. By deleting tags you can elect to delete the geometry on them, or assign them to ‘untagged’ - which seems to be what you did.

Things (components, groups, etc) that you have assigned to tags do create for larger and larger models…. Depending on what they are.

The best thing to do in this case is not start deleting tags, but first purging all unused components (the things that likely have geometry to bloat your file) and then purging all unused materials.

Have you found someone local to teach you? I think you could really benefit from one on one professional training.

Nevertheless, here is an attempt at an answer: the drawn surface does not seem to be in the same context (group/component) as the hexagon, so push-pull does not create an opening, but creates a new body outside the hexagon.

See this thread and this one.
