Restart the Mac, empty trash, get the download .dmg at the right place::

And reinstall. Do not follow ‘uninstall’ tutorials if you do not know what you are doing.
FYI: If you just needed to inspect some files of your ‘lost’ collegue, you could just have installed 2018, for it has a 30-day trial. Your company should have a License somewhere for it is against the Eula to use SketchUp commercially.

As @MikeWayzovski pointed out, using Make in a professional or corporate setting violates the Terms of Service for the use of this software and the Pro version is required. Please confirm your type of license to ensure your continued eligibility to use the program.

You should also be aware that the support team usually does NOT render assistance to non Pro users, however, the overwhelming majority of SketchUppers consistently rely on the information presented in this Forum to resolve issues they encounter in usiing the program.

Depending on your type of license, e.g. Individual or Network, you may be able to use your company’s existing Pro license and authorization code. Individual licenses can be applied to two computers provided that these machines do not access the license at the same time. This allows users to have SketchUp Pro on a computer at home and use the same license on a computer at work. Network licenses are usable on a finite number of computers using the same internet connection and there is no limitation on when this license may be put to use.
