Can't find recovered skp/skb file

Hey,

I have tried looking at multiple topics related to this issue I am having but i can’t find the solution.

I worked on a sketchup model and it initially saved, but then sketchup crashed and It had a recovered file for the model i was working on but then disappeared again when I tried to open sketchup and I can’t find it at all. I only have the initial saved file which doesn’t have all the detail I added to the model…

I have searched for hidden files and my preferences are set to save every 5mins for back up files which it doesn’t have seem to do.

can anyone help, before i attempt to restart the model from scratch :frowning:

If there actually is a recovered file it will be in User/AppData/Local/SketchUp/SketchUp 20xx/SketchUp/working AppData is normally a hidden folder but you can make hidden folders visible in the Options panel in File Explorer.

The backup file will be a file with the extension .skb, that has the same name as the .skp, and will be in the same folder. You won’t normally see the file if you choose File/Open. Look for the file using File Explorer.
