Recently off SU for about 6 months, long time user for residential design.
Think I have followed all the protocols, also set Chrome as default browser, closed all previous versions of SketchUp, etc.
What else should I be doing? Lost in a cloud of smoke… All help accepted.
Closing or even deinstalling the older versions does not deactivate or remove the activation automatically, this must be done inside the actual application itself in order to ping the Trimble servers to notify.
You can ‘deauthorize all’ devices on which you have one though (search deauthorize)
Once this is done, one needs to sign out and back in, of course to notify the servers which version you would like to activate currently.
même problème. après avoir téléchargé SKETCHUP PRO 2025, j’ai installé l’exe en tant qu’administrateur, mais rien ne se passe. le message: nombre de licences dépassé
A few versions ago something was added to the Windows installers. When installing you may notice the command prompt window appear briefly. That is the installer attempting to sign you out from that version of SketchUp.
What happens when you start an older installed version?
If it doesn’t prompt you to sign in, the deactivation has not worked, yet. Be sure to have followed the whole process.
Also, there might be installations on other machines active, be sure to have them deactivated by signing out in the application as well.
If all fails, you might want to try deleting the login_session.dat file in the %AppData%\SketchUp\Sketchup 202x folder

when and why do I need to re-sign into sketchup? I use the same computer and it randomly asks me to sign in twice before using. why does this happen and when should i expect this?
