Single lines don’t work with intersect faces because, well they’re not a face.
If you want intersect faces to work, make sure you have at least 2 faces that actually intersect (just touching doesn’t always do the trick)
For what you want all you have to do is open the component/group you want to cut, and draw the line IN that component/group. after you draw the line it automatically splits the surface and you can delete what you don’t need..
@jean_lemire_1 explained it to you in your other thread about the same subject, which is against forum guidelines by the way..
You don’t have turn hidden geometry on to use intersection.. In the video you draw a line, i thought may be there is hidden geometry on the surface, you can’t draw lines by not respecting hidden geometry on a surface, you should draw lines between hidden lines. It seems that is not the case..
