Can SketchUp Pro and SketchUp Make run on the same computer?

Can SketchUp Pro and SketchUp Make run on the same computer? I would like to use some BIM in my SketchUp Pro 2017 and view it in SketchUp Make to see the results. Can that be done?

They don’t install separately, so the license file will conflict. There is a single license file and either it says “This is SketchUp Pro with license key …” or “This is SketchUp Make and the user agreed not to do commercial work”.

You probably would have to use some technique of separated environments:

  • Use two user accounts and make sure the license is not stored in the shared “Public” folder.
  • Use virtualization or dual-booting.

Or create files in SketchUp 2017 licensed as Pro (just down-save for 2016) and use 2016 Make for viewing/testing.

If they are separate SU versions it can be esily done by just installing them, for the same SU version you’d have to use Aerilius’s approach.

May I ask why you want this? Why not only run pro?
