I am trying to get intersection ot these two objects

 ![Rear view](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/sketchup/original/3X/4/0/40a7646a610f4544fe5402bd31f9b3ba04edb641.png) ![Rear view](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/sketchup/original/3X/d/4/d49fcb4d7404574a7254249a0df7b5c4ffa10c5a.png)

After positioning them one over other

 ![4](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/sketchup/original/3X/1/b/1bff775135eabd589ab05cce4fff8141e324b59a.png)

I have selected faces to intersect

 ![5](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/sketchup/original/3X/b/d/bde36d3068e561209567fc1b3789b4a372da11d8.png)

and applied “Intersection with context”.

Then I got lines of intersection

 ![This should be cut off.](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/sketchup/original/3X/c/b/cbcca2197e1ca47291224cecf783212e02c61263.png)

And now I expect, that selecting this area will select only part ot edge “below” the blue line.

But lookng from face side I see that the edge entirely is selected.

What I am doing wrong, and how to fix it?

If you made them solid you could use the solid tools to give you the intersected shape.
