I have only recently jumped over to SU from autocad, and I’m still getting used to using Layout.
I like to assign as many shortcuts to my macro key-controller as possible.
One function i find myself using a lot is the “edit label” that i can access through a right-click after selecting the label. (if i want to reposition the leader arrow/shoulder of a line)
This function is not in the shortcut bin as an option.
Ive been able to assign functions that live in the right-click menu inside of sketchup by selecting it first to prompt that option and then navigating to the shortcut bin. But that doesn’t seem to work for me in Layout.
If you have a label selected, you can optionally use the Enter key to enter into manipulation mode, and hitting Enter again will move you to text edit mode for the label. This is true for many entities - like paths and dimensions - and you can also change your group context by hitting Enter when you have a group selected.
haha man. That was way easier than expected. Thank you!
The one thing that really drew me over to SU from autocad (aside from the cost of running it) is how simple and intuitive it seemed to be.
Even after getting comfortable with it, im still surprised at how simple some things are as i continue to refine my learning curve. Looking back, autocad is so unnecessarily complicated in a lot of ways.
