Bugsplat issue with offset

Hi, there is a situation we frequently encounter while modeling stairs, and I really want to understand the reason behind it now. Every time I offset the curve here by 30 units, I get a BugSplat before it even reaches the end. Is there a geometry collision?

I would appreciate an explanatory help. My version is SketchUp 2025. I’ve attached the file.

Your bug is interesting, BUT… why are you doing something so painfully slow and cumbersome to begin with?

Thanks for advice.

Its a curved stair. Angle and dimensions are changing upwards. Even it still can be created with follow me but curious about the reason of bugsplat :upside_down_face:

Aaaah… ok, that was not clear at all from your screenshot.
In that case, I would not be surprised if the problem is related to the fact that you used really small segments for the curve and when you offset those, they intersect with the platform surface (or with each other) creating even smaller segments and triggering the well-known “tiny edge bug”.

Sorry that was my bad, its not a curve.

I have to say its an arc with 46 segments at the start of topic.

Make sure that you send in your bugsplats with your e-mail. Then you can post the bugsplat number here. @colin has access to them and might be able to tell what is happening.

Sorry, didn’t notice your screenshot with the number.

I didnt attached my email before so sent a new crash report with this number.

Thanks.
