Hi,
This is a reproducible bug and has been around since forever.
I just want to bring it to the attention of the Sketchup development team.
Basically, if there is a model with large number of faces within a group (or component), and that group is opened and paint bucket is used to change the colour area, Sketchup will crash, always without a bugsplat, and usually without writing into the event log.
In the very rare occasion that it did write something to the event log, here are the details:
Faulting application name: SketchUp.exe, version: 17.2.2555.0, time stamp: 0x589cee5d
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.15063.0, time stamp: 0x461a0ff5
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000000000004aa7c
Workaround: Explode the group or component and it paints correctly.
Other related into: Tested with model containing 5096 faces, that works.
Tested with model containing 10268 faces, and Sketchup will crash.
The attached model contains 14260 faces, and will crash.

Earlier versions (32-bit) on Windows 7 did the same thing.
