The information contained in the Model Info window is supposed to be specific to just that active file, correct? Things like Geo-location are contained there. They’re file specific and not global.
On MacOS it’s possible to have multiple files open at once, and I do that all the time.
I have templates that rely on “Enable Scene Transition” being turned off. If I open a new file and enable scene transition for that file in order to do some animation, I find the other open files now have “Enable Scene Transition” turned on, and I didn’t do that. You wouldn’t think that setting on one file should affect other open files.
Anyone else seeing this? (Windows works differently than MacOS for working on multiple files, so wouldn’t be surprised if it has different results.)
I’ve had a few cases where all of a sudden animation was turned on, despite it being turned off by default, but it’s usually during training, and I can’t really put my finger on what I’ve done.

right, model info is definitely meant to be file-specific, not global.
I’m on windows, but back in college a friend using a mac ran into a similar issue with the units setting in model info jumping between open files. I don’t know if it was the same issue, but the behavior sounds quite similar.
One workaround that might be worth trying, if you need to keep the other files open, is running the animation file in a separate SketchUp session. If the problem disappears when the files are running in separate sessions, that might also help narrow down what’s causing it.
Just sharing because I’ve seen a somewhat similar behavior before. I’ll also send this to my friend and see if he remembers the exact details- it was quite a few years ago, so I don’t want to claim it was definitely the same issue without checking with him.
Separate sessions are a Windows thing. There’s no equivalent on Mac, which is why I suspect this is just a Mac problem. I’m not a Windows person, but for a couple years while teaching, we had dual boot Macs so the students could choose which OS to run SU with and I had to learn a few things.
That’s been my experience — not being able to tell what triggers it. I haven’t seen the problem for months, but yesterday I tried to do an animation in a new document and my other open document got flipped.
