I see there are a number of extensions to create a BOM for woodworking from a Sketchup model. Is anyone aware of one that relates to a manufacturing shop - Aluminum parts and sheet goods? I need to do quantity take-offs and material lengths and widths for purchaing. Any help would be great!!
Have you checked the inbuilt generate report and the variations you can make?
Most likely your objects are components, consider some basic dynamic ones. keep one axis for length. A simple script to position, orientate and scale (http://sdmitch.blogspot.com/) run from extension “toolbar editor” will help.
This way you can customize to your needs
