Blurred lines and shadows after exporting to Layout

Hi Everyone,

I have a simple 2D floorplan that I have exported to Layout but when am getting double and blurry lines. I haven’t use Sketchup in a while and I am not a proficient user but this has never happened before and I can’t figure out what’s going on. I have not applied any shadows in Sketchup or adjusted line thickness. Is anyone able to help, in plain terms please?
Thanks in advance!

Is this the blur you are referring to?

That’s due to the viewport being rendered as Raster and the Display rendering for viewports being set to Medium.

You can improve the appearance of the raster rendering by setting Display Rendering to High.

Or you can render the viewport as Vector.

Keep in mind that Output rendering is set to High so the exported page will look better than it does with Display Rendering set to Medium.

Setting the Display Rendering to High can slow LayOut down if your model is complex. This one appears simple enough that it should slow your computer down significantly but if you start to see it get slow, switch back to Medium.

Also, if you intend to have the viewport rendered as Vector (in case you’re planning to export a DXF or DWG file, you may want to think about increasing the line scale for the viewport to more than 0.10 pixels. That’s very thin and may not print well. Also may want to reduce the Dash Scale. I would export a PDF to get an idea of how they will look before going farther. For example you might want something like this.

And make scenes in the SketchUp model to use for the viewports in LayOut. Don’t use Last saved SketchUp view for them.

Hi Dave

Thank you, I have implemented all you suggested and it’s looking much better. I have been tearing my hair out so thank you for that!!
