Black Material on USDZ Export

This happens occasionally, can seem to find the pattern, or if funky geometry is the culprit. USDZ export sometimes exports objects without material (all black). No materials have been assigned to the geometry. Just reporting.

Are the faces correctly oriented?

Yes. Faces are correctly oriented. That was my first guess.

@OmarC I took a look and don’t see anything obviously awry with the model… I’ll get a bug filed. Thanks for reporting!

Thanks Mike. I am going to run some experiments. I think it may be related to having loose geometry on the default material.

gotcha. so the ‘workaround’ might just be to make sure that all faces have a non-default color applied before exporting?

That’s my theory. But Need to confirm. It seems that the default material sometimes comes in as gray sometimes comes in as black. I am looking for a pattern of behavior.
