Best Apple Pencil for iPad Use — Need Advice to Choose

I have been researching the best Apple Pencil for the past few days because I’m looking for one for taking notes, drawing and everyday use with my iPad. I’ve checked reviews and comparisons from a few popular tech websites, and I’m currently considering the second generation Apple Pencil, and the current Apple Pencil Pro.

However, I’m having trouble deciding which one would be the better choice for my needs. I mainly want good writing accuracy, smooth performance and a comfortable experience for taking notes and doing some drawing.

Which one would you recommend? Any recommendation would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I’d also consider the Metapen A8 Stylus Pen and JAMJAKE Stylus Pen if you’re looking for a more affordable option. It supports magnetic attachment and palm rejection, which could be handy for note-taking and everyday iPad use. Between the Apple Pencil 2 and Apple Pencil Pro, I’d mainly compare compatibility and the extra features you’ll actually use.

I edited both posts because they had external links, which I don’t think is allowed, and the links also happened to be URL shortened ones. Very difficult to be sure that the links were safe.

I did test the links, and think that you both meant no harm, and so reinstated the posts, without the links.

Back to the initial question, you could ask Gemini for a comparison. I tried this prompt:

“what are the differences between the Apple Pencil second generation and the Apple Pencil Pro”

That gave back a good comparison, where really other than the Pro not supporting older iPads, there was no good reason to get the second generation. Even the price of the two can be the same. I went on to ask:

“given what you said, is there any reason to choose the second generation one?”

That did point out that aside from supporting older iPads, the second generation version might be sold at a discount in some places.
