I need to reshape an arc to elongate it but I can’t figure out how to do it and can’t find a tutorial anywhere. I understand I can do it on the Mac (found those instructions) but I always design on iPad because it’s quicker for me and I can do it anywhere. The only time I use desktop it to print cut lists from the Open Cutlist extension. The shape im trying to make is basically 1/4 of an ellipse.
Select the arc and use the Scale tool to elongate it.
I tried that. What I need is not symmetrical. It is an arch on the top of a bookcase so there is more curvature in the “corners” than the middle. If that makes sense at all.
Maybe something closer to this?
This was drawn with three arcs. A small one at each end and the central arc tangent to the end segments of the smaller arcs.
If you need an actual 1/4 of an ellipse you might start with a full circle and scale that to an ellipse, then divide it to get the 1/4-ellipse.
The one on top uses half an ellipse which I drew starting with a full circle and then scaling about its center to make a skinny ellipse.
Might be that this is a time you need to break out SketchUp 2026 and use an extension to draw the desired curve.
