Hello folks ! I need your help on this one. I am designing ship models for the Virtual Sailor NG simulator. I wanted to find a way to make my models less heavy but still maintain all of the details.
So i thought i could use PNG images instead of actually making for example a rail.
It worked ! I export the model to .3ds and then convert it to .x via Deep exploration and import the model it in the simulator. And here is the issue: Once the model is loaded, all the back faces of the png images wont show. Export two sided faces is checked in the export options in Sketchup.
Any help is much appreciated !
Have you applied the png to the back faces as well as the front faces?
So it looks like SketchUp is doing what it is designed to do. I guess I would get with the folks who made the simulator and see if they have advice for you.
Are you still using SketchUp 2018 and Windows 8?
Yes i still use those. I show a model from another guy who did the same thing as i did and it worked. Maybe i have to ask him.
Yeah. That would be a good idea.
