I’m wondering if there are any extensions specially for Layout which expand the functionality of the Autotext feature? especially any that are architecturally focused.

There are no extensions for layout just for SketchUp. What do you actually want to do? If you use components you can give them different names and definitions to be shown when you use the text tool.
In many ways, I’m looking to automate and make various aspects of a set of blueprints interdependent.
Things like being able to link text with viewports themselves and not just components in viewports.
Make sketchbook components auto increase over time.
honestly, I was hoping that some architects had developed a better workflow for some of the more tedious aspects of pulling together drafting. and that i could basically steal that workflow.

so…as always, the answer is find the right extenstion in sketchup itself? make some sense. Whats your experience and impression of 5D?
I bought it when it was released but I haven’t used the way it’s meant to be used, just the export dxf and dwg features, it’s hard for me to change my workflow developed over the years. I use dynamic components, profile builder, quantifier and layout for all my projects, but I want to learn more about it to be able to compare with my workflow and switch to it if it’s more efficient.

thank you. Once I manage to finish this error laden drafting project I’m on, I plan on upgrading my workflow by looking through a variety of extenstions. I believe this one may have moved to the top of my list
I know that feeling. one of the main reasons I’m looking at upgrading is because I actually need to change one of my base extensions for timber frame drafting, plus on the whole, I’m painfully aware of how slow my current workflow is. Clients are only willing to pay so much…
