Some fields think of Y up in a 3d envirement because Y is called “up” in 2D space. To me 2D space has always been horizontal so Z being up is natural to me.
However, I think they should swap axes at export time, not inside the model. Having a vertical plane being considered the ground plane will to my knowledge affect how easily SketchUp infers to it.
