I just finished watching the iPhone 16 launch event. Can SketchUp add a feature called “Model It.”
Concept: A designer sees an item the want. They scan the item through “Model It” and Sketchup creates a model from the scan.
Why?
A frustration with SketchUp is a lack of focus on sales. I don’t want to be locked into the various nonsense vendor apps regarding space planning an items. However, I do want the ability to add an item as a sales tool.
Take a look at SketchUp for iPad. It has a feature to scan with iPad Pro and Lidar.
Okay.
I prefer something on the iPhone instead of bringing an iPad into a showroom.
I’m no expert, but perhaps there is a photogrammetry technique that doesn’t need lidar?
I am not sure.
Concept—The designer can create an iPhone model of an item, which I can include in my concept drawing.
The goal is to have accurate items without being locked into a vendor space planning model.
