it makes prefect holes in infill. Lines are not in a group, but when you select them they are together.
it is copied from sketchup directly and transfered to vector. It works perfectly for letter R but not working for letter O or a circle.
So How do I make a prefect O cut infill? Or I really want the R explained, how can it exist?
so, you place a O or a R in sketchup using the 3d text, then you copy / paste it in layout ?
I typed O and R (different font).
copied it in sketchup, paste in layout. set the viewport to vector, explode, explode, I get 2 things, a group with the fills, a group with the lines.
if I take the group with the fill, I can change the aspect, thickness and all.
because I’m selecting a fill, if I turn off the content (remove the fill), it may looks like the contours are “just lines” but they are not, they are the sides of the fill.
the other group is the lines as you see them in sketchup. they are somewhat independent.
The confusion I think comes from the fact that in sketchup you have one face with its contour, and in layout you can explode it in two parts, a face on one side, and contours on the other one.
it’s the way making vector shapes work, you can have a fill with no contour, a contour with no fill.
unless I’m missing a point ?

I tried a few times again, the problem is the letter and shape I copied from sketchup are too small, the infill will be lost after copied into layout and converted to vector.
I make them big and copied to layout again it works nice now.
oh yeah, didn’t think of that.
my letters were 50m tall, because I 3d printed some text last week, so I was working 1000x bigger than needed.
