Annoying mouse pointer behavior

Hi there,

I (and my colleagues) are observing two strange problems with the mouse pointer in SketchUp 2025, or rather, its behavior in combination with keyboard shortcuts.

Problem 1: After a certain amount of time, the mouse pointer changes to a pointer that resembles a black up-and-down arrow. No matter which tool you select, the pointer remains in this state. However, the functions are executed correctly. Only the pointer always remains the same.

Problem 1: Switching between the paint bucket and color picker with the ALT key eventually stops working. You have to repeatedly press ESC and/or SPACE until it finally works.

The only thing that helps is restarting SketchUp 2025. This is very, very annoying, as it occurs involuntarily and constantly distracts you from your work. The problem with the bucket/color picker is particularly annoying.

There have been several problems with the mouse pointer in SketchUp, but it’s never been this bad.

Cheers!

I’ve seen others report this on a forum; the staff is working on it. (Perhaps it is already be fixed in SU2026…)

I just figured out something about Problem 1.

This occurs, and is reproducable, if you use a second screen with the tray on it. If you start moving the - lets call them “seperator bars” between each Segment (Materials, Tags, Styles etc.) - and move the cursor back to your main screen while unpressing the left mousebutton, sometimes the cursor stays in this style. It doesn´t happen each time, but sometimes.

To bring it back into its normal behaviour you have to move a “seperator” again, and then it goes back to “normal”, when changing the screen again …

Thats weird

yeah, it was an interface bug in SU25. as far as I know, it was fixed in 26.
