Announcing changes to the Sefaira Education Program

You might know that Sefaira joined the SketchUp family in 2016. Since then, both SketchUp and Sefaira have continued to evolve and have become united under the SketchUp Studio bundle. Moving forward, the Sefaira Education Program will be joining forces with SketchUp to utilize this newly streamlined way to access Sefaira’s Building Performance tools for Energy, Daylight, and Thermal Comfort Modeling.

What this means is that the current way educators access Sefaira as a stand alone entitlement issued through the Sefaira Education Program is being replaced with the SketchUp Studio subscription. This suite of tools includes Sefaira, SketchUp Pro, LayOut, Trimble Connect, AR/VR viewers, and other design and collaboration solutions, in one convenient package. In addition, transitioning to the subscription means that educational customers will now receive customer support through their regional educational reseller.

By utilizing the SketchUp Studio subscription, students and educators can now access Sefaira through their Trimble ID as a single sign on to all things Trimble.

Wondering how this will affect your class? Existing Sefaira entitlements that were granted through the Sefaira Education Program will be honored through the end of their current expiration date. This means that if you are currently using Sefaira in your class you will be able to continue using it until your agreement’s scheduled end. Beyond that date, all students and educators will have to access Sefaira through a SketchUp Studio for Higher Education subscription.

With this program change, The Trimble Sefaira & SketchUp Education Teams remain committed to providing the Building Performance and 3D modeling tools required for sound early-stage design decisions.
