Animation of scene

I’m attempting to make an animated scene for my daughters spaceship model. Unfortunately it appears the model or at least all of what goes into making it is far too big. Each time I try to do something basic (like grouping the model, or making it a component) Sketchup just freezes. Any suggestions?

First thing you might try is going to Window>Model Info>Statistics and clicking Purge Unused. It ight just be that you need to have a little patience and let SketchUp do its thing.

Thanks Dave, I might just give that a try. I did tell my kid initially she didn’t need to build the thing in full scale.
