Ambient Occlusion not exporting to PDF from Layout

I’m having an issue where when my coworkers export a drawing to pdf from Layout, the ambient occlusion disappears. Everything works fine on my computer. When they open the same Layout file, ambient occlusion is showing normally. But when they export to pdf, the resulting file has no AO effect.

Any ideas what is causing this?

Are the viewports being rendered as Vector when thy are exporting (or before they export)? AO is a raster thing so not displayed with Vector rendering.

The viewports are set to Hybrid.

What graphics card do they have? Which graphics engine is selected? Which version of SketchUp/LayOut are they using?

Intel Arc Graphics. They mostly work in Layout only.

Standard graphics engine.

Version 2025.

Any different result with thenew graphics engine?

What happens if they use LO2026 instead?

We tried using the new graphics engine in Layout and that didn’t change it. Does the graphics engine used in Sketchup affect this?

We haven’t tried 2026.

Try changing the graphics engine in SketchUp, too.

This is it. Turning on the new graphics engine in SketchUp allows AO to work in the LayOut exports. Since it was showing correctly inside LayOut, I didn’t think about it needing to be turned on in SketchUp to export properly.

Thanks!

Glad you got that to work. I thought it was the case with 2025. I tested it in 2026 and it didn’t seem to matter which graphics engine was selected in SketchUp.
