Admin access for student to use desktop sketchup on personal device

I am a student at SDSU and when trying to start SketchUp program with student email it says I need an Admin code to login, my teacher says they do not provide one and its something we have to go through Trimble with? Im not sure how to move forward

Hi @angelinawatson, thanks for reaching out about access to SketchUp for Schools. I am not familiar with SDSU and your profile information is not exactly helping me narrow down what that particular acronym stands for. Can you clarify if you are a k-12 student or are higher education?

A guess: SDSU is San Diego State University. Of course if that’s correct SketchUp for Schools is not the right product. @angelinawatson go to this link and purchase a SketchUp for Higher Education license.

Thanks for the post DaveR. I agree that if SDSU does stand for that particular school that SketchUp for Schools is not the right product for this case. If they are a college student, we can get them sent over to the right vendor to get them a student license. Hopefully we hear back from them soon so we can get an answer confirming things.

Yes it is San Diego State University, I am in higher education, I bought a year long subscription with my personal email but if I am able to get the correct link to download SketchUp to use with my school email that would be awesome!

Thanks for the clarification @angelinawatson! SketchUp for schools is not the same as the desktop version. It is a web based app and is designed for K-12 students only. I’ll go ahead and move this thread to the right category. If you already have a student subscription, should be all set to use the full Pro version of SketchUp. Just log in with the email associated with the account and you are all set to go!

If you need a link to the download page on our site, all currently supported versions of SketchUp can be found here: https://sketchup.trimble.com/en/download/all

If you want to change the email associated with the license, you need to open a support ticket as I do not have access to that system. If you purchased your subscription via a reseller, I would try getting in touch with them first.
