Activate all parts of the same color simultaneously

Good day and Merry Christmas!

I’m facing the problem of having to import and edit many external drawings. When importing *.ifc drawings, all assemblies are assigned their own color, but they’re all on the same layer. I’m looking for an add-on that activates all components of a specific color together, so I could simply assign them a layer. Currently, I have to tediously select all components of the same color with the mouse. Is there an add-on that either activates all components of the same color together or places them directly on one layer? Thank you for any tips!

Have you tried using Select in the In model section of materials.

Now I understand. The problem was that the components were grouped multiple times. It only worked after I ungrouped them down to the deepest level. Now that I know, I’ve saved myself a lot of work!
