I noticed a small error in the French translation of skp2026.
The word is different in the singular and plural forms.
When you select and want to delete a single tag, the context menu correctly displays “supprimer l’étiquette”
When you select and want to delete multiple tags, the context menu correctly displays “supprimer les balises”
yeah, it’s due to the fact that Trimble chose to rename layers into tags and then decided that in french it should be translated.
first it was balises as in html tag.
now it is etiquettes as in luggage tag.
and because translation is automated, it’s a mess. (don’t forget the AI motto, just because it’s faster doesn’t mean it’s better)
In both of your screenshots you can see tags, balises and étiquettes.
meanwhile, the help page still calls them balises.

couldn’t it have been simpler to JUST call them tags ? after all, it’s 2026, we’ve been tagging each other on social network for a couple of decade now.

mind you, it’s not translated in german, even though in german, Tag means day.

I still believe that the term “Layer” was much more appropriate for the behavior of this attribute, since it can only contain a single choice. This is not the idea commonly associated with “Tag” or “Label,” which often has multiple values elsewhere… Not to mention that at least it was consistent with DXF.
But then Layout evolved… 
I love how in layout, Tags are not translated, because there is already a label tool that is already renamed étiquette.
and how the auto-text tags have been translated as étiquette again even though this time balises was the actual good translation.
at some point, just put tag everywhere. it’s less confusing.
