6-cornered cylinder with solid sides

how can I model this best. its a 6-cornered cylinder with flat roof, narrowing upward. the sides should be solid components. can i do it with follow me? or any other (easy) way is appreciated. thanks. the aim is to get a cutlist for wood working.

So what you really need is six stave components, one for each facet or the tapered cone? Do you need the staves to be joined with bevels or do you want to use a different joinery method?

What are the dimensions of your assembly?

yes, the single component should be bevelled with 60 degrees angle, as there are 6 of them. the top and bottom-faces of the components have an angle that is dependent on height and dimensions of the 6-segments-circles (top and bottom). it will be 100mm high but these parameters should be changeable. my main question is how to rotate each component around an axis 6 times…

Use the Rotate tool to make a radial array about the center of the assembly. Select the stave, get the Rotate tool, tap Option to invoke the Copy function, rotate the first copy 60°, press Return, then type x5, Return to make the additional copies.

thnak you. i wil try …

You’re welcome.

If you look at the Square One videos from SketchUp on You Tube you should find one on using the Rotate tool to make radial arrays.

i made it… thanks a lot.
